Star Lanes Polaris Review

Last week I had the opportunity to take my family to Star Lanes Polaris – a fun new entertainment destination for families, friends and more located in Columbus, Ohio. There truly is something for everyone at Star Lanes! It’s a place where I feel comfortable taking my family, but I can also imagine having a great date night there with my husband.

Star Lanes offers boutique bowling, billiards, games, an upscale lounge and more. We were given a tour of the VIP/Event area of Star Lanes and it is sweet! It almost makes me wish that I worked for a large company again so that I could attend a holiday party or event there! The private area has it’s own bar, lounge area, meeting rooms and private lanes for bowling.

This space would be perfect for holiday parties, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, team building events and so much more (capacity is 20-400 people). Here is a shot of the main lounge area in the VIP area:

And a blurry shot (sorry!) of the private bowling lanes. There is also a private bar off to the right.

Seriously – if you ever have a party here, will you invite me? ;-) You can also have birthday parties and other events out in the public space at Star Lanes if you don’t need as much space. Learn more about private events and other parties at Star Lanes Polaris here.

After touring the VIP area, we were treated to dinner at The Point Bar & Grill – the in house restaurant at Star Lanes Polaris. Kids eat FREE on Wednesdays at The Point Bar & Grill -so that would be a great time to check it out! Or, check out Date Night Thursday – where you can get 1 appetizer and 2 entrees for $20 from 5-10PM.

We started our meal with Soft Pretzel Dippers. I didn’t take a picture because we were too busy scarfing them down. The soft pretzels were served with a trio of dips: Jalapeño aioli, beer cheese sauce, and yellow mustard. I’m not a beer drinker but the beer cheese sauce was my personal favorite. Next time I am totally ordering an Onion Ring Tower…I had food envy when the table next to us got one. :-)

I ordered the Sunshine Burger and my husband ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich seen in the picture below. Does that look like bowling alley food to you?!

I didn’t think so. My kids had standard kiddo fare – cheese pizza and chicken & fries. Overall, we had a great dinner experience, and I will be back – because I want to try those onion rings and some of the sliders.

One of the great things about having a restaurant in house is that you can order food from the restaurant while you are bowling. There are couches and tables at the end of the bowling lanes where you can dine while you are bowling…it’s awesome!

After dinner we were given a game card and we headed to the Game Room area of Star Lanes Polaris. My girls are 3.5 and 7.5 and the game room was their favorite part of the evening. There are games for all ages in the game room. You can purchase a game card that you swipe to play. Players earn game tickets that can then be traded in for prizes. My two *might* have had to be physically removed from the area (by us) at the end of the night and there *might* have been some kicking and screaming. They really didn’t want to leave (but alas it was a school night…) and they can’t wait to go back again.

Now, if you live in the Columbus area, here are some great Star Lanes Polaris Promotions that you’ll want to check out!
