The Strand Theater 2015 Summer Kids Movie Series

Summer is right around the corner, and I am all about taking my kids to as many FREE and Cheap Summer Activities as possible! We spend a fair amount of money on our Columbus Zoo/Zoombezi Bay membership and one or two summer camps per kid, so I like to give my budget a break the rest of the summer when I am able.

If you live in or near Delaware, OH and haven’t checked out the Strand Theater in downtown Delaware yet, do yourself a favor and give it a shot this summer. I have lived in Delaware County for nearly 15 years and I didn’t really start exploring downtown Delaware until the past year or so. I am really mad at myself for not doing so sooner! In addition to great restaurants, antique (and other) shops and more, the Strand Theater is a great little gem.

The Strand Theater 2015 Summer Kids Movie Series was just announced this week, and their program is a bit different than other summer movie programs. The Strand Theater collects donations for specific LOCAL charities each week in lieu of admission. They will also take cash donations for the charity of the week – and 100% of all donations go to these charities. This is an awesome way to teach our kids about helping those in need, and they get to view a great movie (and escape the heat) while doing it.

Movies are shown on Tuesdays at 11AM and 2:30 PM June 2 – August 4, 2015.

You can view a complete schedule of movies and the charities that will benefit from this series HERE.
