sally hansen miracle gel polish review With two little girls in my house, nail painting has become a “thing”. I even have a drawer full of polish in my kitchen – no lie. :-)  I typically end up painting my 4 year old’s nails more than my own, but I have been intrigued by gel nail polish for awhile now (for my own use). I have been hesitant to try gel polish because I didn’t want to mess with a light to set it, and I have heard that it is difficult to remove. But the longevity of the polish sounded good to me, so I hadn’t completely ruled it out.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™ polish, and I jumped at the chance for 2 reasons. 1) Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™ does not require the use of a light and 2) I was asked to host a “pamper party” for a few of my girlfriends, complete with food, music and Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™ to try. I don’t know about you, but I do not make the time to get together with my girlfriends often enough, so this sounded great to me!

We have been enjoying gorgeous, sunny fall weather here in Central Ohio lately, so my friends and I were able to enjoy our lunch and manicures on my patio. Our party started with lunch and catching up. Then we cleared the table and selected our colors. I chose “Redgy” for my nails, and my friends went with “Purplexed” for theirs.

We all prepped our nails by removing old polish and shaping our nails, and then it was time to paint!

We all applied 2 coats of polish, letting each coat dry completely in between application. We then set the polish with the Miracle Gel™ top coat. Had I planned ahead a bit more, we could have added some of this Sally Hansen® Nail Art…so cute!

Some tips that I have for the perfect mani are:

  • Start with clean, trimmed nails and push your cuticles back (carefully) before starting
  • Don’t apply the polish too thickly or you could end up with bubbles in the polish
  • Allow the polish to dry completely before applying the next coat
  • Use a Manicure Clean Up Pen once your manicure it totally dry for a clean, salon like finish

I am happy to report that we were all impressed with Sally Hansen® Miracle Gel™. The polish stayed put for roughly a week before we noticed any chipping, and we all received lots of compliments on the bright, vibrant shades. My friend who painted her toes has actually had no chipping yet, and the polish is still shiny.

Personally, I was pleased at how easy this product was to remove as well. I’m excited to have found a product that will hold up for more than a couple of days, and I’m excited to try more colors!
