My Trip to CVS Headquarters #CVSAccess #whatsyourdeal

If you follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook, you might remember that I was invited to a blogger event at CVS/pharmacy Headquarters in Providence, RI a few weeks ago. One of the most exciting things about my job (to me!) is when I get invited to visit the headquarters of my favorite stores. I was honored to be asked back to CVS for a second year. Everything about this trip is fun, but the best part is being able to put faces with all of the great people who I work with on promotions via email all year long.

The organizers of this event think of everything. After getting settled into my hotel room this lovely gift basket arrived at my door. You really can find just about anything in CVS/pharmacy stores, and this basket is a testament to that. I frequently hit up my local CVS store before we go on a trip – to grab snacks, travel size products and more.

After a delicious kick off dinner and a good night’s sleep, the next day we loaded buses for the short drive to Woonsocket, RI and CVS Headquarters. We spent our day chatting, snacking on new CVS Gold Emblem Snack Items and learning tons of interesting facts about the Minute Clinic, CVS ExtraCare, and the new myWeekly Ad feature on

The Gold Emblem trail mix is delicious!!  And check out these adorable Gold Emblem ABC Pretzels:

While many of the bloggers at the event were coupon/deal bloggers who know the ins and outs of the CVS ExtraCare Program, there were still some interesting facts to be learned.

For example, did you know that 1 in 3 people living in the United States has an ExtraCare card? Or that the total savings received by CVSExtra customers in 2012 was $1.5 billion? That = 6451 minivans!

92 million families have used their ExtraCare card in the last year…that is a crazy large number! Another fact that I found interesting is that only 15% of CVS Customers use the “Magic” Coupon Center located in the front of the store. If you are one of the 85% PLEASE, do me a favor and scan your ExtraCare card the next time you shop at CVS. Trust me, the huge string of coupons that come flying out of the machine are worth it!

We also spent some time talking about the new CVS myWeekly Ad Feature available at If you haven’t checked this out yet, please do!

As you can see in this image, the myWeekly Ad allows you to view the current weekly ad, customized for YOU based on your previous purchases at CVS. You can see all of the ExtraCare Savings available, scan your previous purchase history and more! You can also create your shopping list directly from this feature. Have you tried myWeekly Ad yet? I would love to hear your thoughts!

After a fun evening of pampering with Nuance by Salma Hayek beauty products and an amazing Essence of Beauty themed dinner, we went back to our hotel and found Gold Emblem Truffles in our room. I can’t locate a picture of these right now – but if you are shopping at CVS and see Salted Caramel Truffles, BUY A BAG! ;-)

If I had to choose, I would say my favorite part of the CVS Blogger Event this year was the Very Merry Holiday Breakfast. It was so fun to walk into a hotel ball room that was totally decked out for Christmas with products that you can purchase at your local CVS/Pharmacy Store.

Check out the tables:

And here are just a few of the great holiday gifts that should be appearing on shelves now:

I have more information to share with you about the CVS Beauty Club and CVS Photo, but I’m saving that for another day!

Here is a parting shot of our entire blogger crew. You might recognize a few of the faces. :-) Thanks so much to the folks at CVS/pharmacy and Matter Communications for an amazing event!

From what you posted, it sounds like it was an awesome trip. CVS is one of my favorite stores and I look forward to seeing their new ad every Sunday. One thing though, I prefer the old way they posted their ad online. Just cannot get used to the new look.
