Like most moms, I do my fair share of stressing about the type of foods that my kids eat – and about the nutrients that they are getting. As my husband and I get older we are worrying about the nutrients in our own diets as well, and protein is one of those things that we are always striving to get more of.

My kids are basically self-imposed vegetarians, so finding good sources of protein for them can be a bit tricky – especially because they are picky eaters. That’s why when I heard about Silk Fruit & Protein and the fact that it contains 5 grams of protein per serving, I rushed out to the store and bought some. My kids both seem to enjoy the delicious fruit juice blend of Silk Fruit & Protein, and I can rest easy knowing that they are drinking something that is good for them!

Besides being highly portable in our travel cups, I have found Silk Fruit & Protein to be a great alternative to regular juice when we are in a rush on busy mornings. Of course we enjoy it at home around the kitchen table too, on those days when we don’t have anywhere to be bright and early. In addition to being a great source of protein, Silk Fruit & Protein is also an excellent source of Calcium, Vitamin D, & Vitamin C – a major score for mom and dad AND the kids! We love the sweet, tangy taste of the Mixed Berry variety. I used to feel guilty for not mixing up fruit smoothies for my kids more often. Being able to grab a half gallon of Silk Fruit & Protein out of the fridge and pouring it over ice for them has helped to alleviate much of that guilt!

Silk Fruit & Protein is available in Mixed Berry and Strawberry Banana and I found it near other Silk and plant based beverages (soy and almond milk) at my grocery store – not with the other juices. In my opinion this delicious juice is worth a try, and the folks at Silk are offering this $1 off Silk Fruit & Protein Coupon on the Silk Facebook page to help entice you to give it a shot as well! Who doesn’t love a coupon, especially if you are a regular reader of this blog!? ;-)
