This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Kalahari® Resorts for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

We have had a hectic summer, and I am extremely excited to be taking some time to spend the weekend together as a family before school starts next week. We are heading to Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky for some relaxation and fun – and I can’t wait!

I have been contemplating going to an indoor water park for a long time, but I wasn’t sure my kids were old enough. I was happy to find that Kalahari Resorts has plenty of activities for toddlers and young kids – including a pool with zero entry, slides, geysers, interactive elements and more. While my 5 year old is likely going to be up for anything, I’m still not sure what my 15 month old is going to think – so I am glad we will have options. :-)

In addition to their indoor waterpark, I was surprised to learn that Kalahari Resorts also has an Outdoor Waterpark and a Safari Outdoor Adventure Park, not to mention arcades, mini-bowling, glow golf and more. They even have a spa & salon!

Free cookie decorating and eating sounds like a fun family activity if we decide that we need a break from all of the waterpark fun (I have a feeling that we will be spending most of our time in the outdoor waterpark area). Check out the family activities calendar here.

If Kalahari Resorts sounds like your cup of tea, be sure to check out all of the great specials and packages that they have to offer. I can’t wait to check out the African themed guest rooms that are available. Food doesn’t sound like it is going to be an issue either – with a wide variety of dining options to choose from.

Stay tuned for more info on our trip, including pictures and a great giveaway!

We have been to Kalahari before and my kids had a great time! My youngest was probably 2 at the time and she loved the smaller kids area. I found out that for being my shy child, she’s a wild woman when it comes to the rides and water slides. She loved the smaller slides in the little kids area and in the outdoor area. My son loved the ropes course they have outside now.

Thanks for the info Heather…I’m hoping my baby loves it…right now sprinklers in our yard freak her out…but she does seem to like swimming in a pool…

Last summer we found ourselves towards the end of summer and we still hadn’t gotten away as a family. We only live about 45 minutes from Sandusky so we decided to spend the night at Kalahari. We got there about noon on the day we were allowed to check in and then stayed for most of the next day after we had checked out. Our kids are much older than yours, but they had a great time.

It was a relaxing getaway and we all enjoyed it. Our package came with 4 adventure park passes (the outside part) and we were impressed with it. Our favorite part was probably just sitting around at the “shore” of the wave pool.

Also be sure to check out the Krispy Kreme doughnuts for sale. I went down in the evening to one of the stores to see how much they would be as a treat for breakfast the next day. ( I NEVER buy doughnuts). I was able to get a whole dozen of their doughnuts for $1.69 because they were not going to be able to sell them in the morning with the fresh ones coming in! I was really happy about that deal!!

I hope you have fun!

We’ve been to Kalahari twice, and we’ve had a great time both times. The second time it was really, really crowded to the point of being overwhelmed with all the people. I’d like to know when it is less crowded. I’d highly recommend the outdoor adventure park, especially the zipline for older kids and adults. My younger, less adventurous kids liked the outdoor water park the best.
