Take the Savings.com Savings Pledge

Take the Savings PledgeI think that one of the biggest misconceptions about couponers is that we buy cheap things. Or that we like cheap things. Or that we can’t afford nice things. I personally try to save money on the things that don’t matter to me so that I can afford the (nice) things that do! Of course I try my best to save money on those nice things when I can, but I typically try to purchase the best items that my money can get me – especially when it comes to big ticket purchases. – even if don’t have a coupon.

I was recently named one of Savings.com’s 2011 DealPros, and I am thrilled to be working with them to promote The Savings Pledge.

What is the Savings Pledge you ask? The Savings Pledge is a fun way to challenge yourself to set a weekly savings goal so that you can either afford something that you have been wanting (or needing) or to beef up (or start) your savings account! Savings.com wants to help consumers save $1 billion!

Taking the Savings Pledge is easysimply visit this page and pledge to save between $5-50 per week. Once you sign up, Savings.com will offer you exclusive deals and offers to help you meet your goal! Also be sure to follow the Savings.com Blog or @Savings on Twitter for great tips on ways to save.

If you take the Savings Pledge, I would love to hear what you are saving up for! We moved into a new (to us) home a couple of weeks ago and while I have a list a mile long of things that I want to save for, first up is new carpet, which means I’ll be using my weekly savings to build up my new carpet fund. :-)
