Groupon: Save up to 90% on Salon Services, Food, Entertainment + More

by Marcy on May 4, 2010 · 4 comments

Did you know that it is possible to save up to 90% off at local restaurants, salons and on events using Groupon? I have seen ads for Groupon all over the web (including on my site!) but it wasn’t until some of my friends started talking about it that I began to take interest.

So what is Groupon? In a nutshell, it is a service that offers amazing daily deals that you can purchase – provided enough other people are interested in the deal too. Groupon calls it “collective buying power”. This service is currently available in over 50 US cities. You can also earn 10 Groupon Bucks when you refer your friends to Groupon. When you sign up you will be given a unique referral link to share with your friends.

You can learn more about Groupon and sign up for your own account here.

I have yet to purchase anything from Groupon, but I love to watch the deals they offer. What about you? Are you already using Groupon, and if so, what have some of your best purchases been?

I love Groupon here in Seattle. I bought $20 woth of dining for $10 to a local waffle restaurant (don’t ask), and have seen things as diverse as whitewater rafting trips, dining, spa days, custom jeans, to custom portrait photography. It’s wonderful! Mostly dining, but it’s fun to see what it’s going to be each day.

My friends and I love Groupon here in Atlanta. I’ve seen everything from brewery tours (which we can’t wait to go on) to spa days to discounts at tattoo parlors. Even just getting the discounts for regular restaurants is exciting.

I have purchased Groupon here in C-bus. It was great! It was easy to use, easy to print out the coupons and then no trouble using them. I love the coupon for Mozart’s Cafe and used it to buy a lot of Christmas gifts and treats.

Groupons are soooo cool! My favorite one so far I bought was a $30 certificate to Color Me Mine (a paint your pottery place). I made a birthday plate for my little girl for half the cost!! Love when they have discount spa coupons too… those are the best!
