Kroger Triple Coupons in Select OH & WV Stores: 3/25-3/28/10

by Marcy on March 24, 2010 · 33 comments

Yet again, I’m excited to share that Kroger is running their Triple Coupon Promotion in select Ohio & West Virginia stores starting tomorrow (3/25) through Sunday, 3/28/10! I am especially excited because I have been out of town and haven’t been to Kroger yet this week. :-)

Here is how the Kroger Triple Coupon Promo Works:

Coupons up to and including $0.50 will triple to $1.50. If your store doubles up to $0.99, coupons from $0.51-0.99 will continue to double. If your store does not double over $0.50 that will still be the case.

This promo runs Thursday (3/25) through Sunday (3/28). There is no limit on the number of coupons you can use, and internet printables WILL also triple provided they have unique serial numbers (which is almost always the case unless someone is making illegal copies).

As I mentioned, a large area of Ohio and a small part of WV is included in this promo. Cincinnati and Dayton stores are unfortunately *not* included.

Here is partial list of stores that are participating. I can’t list every single city, but if your store is near one of those listed below it would be worth a trip to see if they are running triple coupons as well:

* ALL Central Ohio Stores
* Mt. Vernon
* Marion
* Delaware
* Mansfield
* Chillicothe
* Circleville
* Sandusky
* Toledo
* Washington Court House
* Portsmouth
* Jackson
* Lancaster
* Bellefontaine
* Saint Clairsville
* Martins Ferry
* Bellaire

West Virginia

* Weirton
* Wheeling
* Moundsville

As always, please call ahead to your local store to confirm if they are participating. (If you store was one of the ones participating recently, they should be participating again). And if you live near the store, you may even have better luck stopping in to see for yourself.

I’m going to be traveling home this afternoon, but hope to start a list of triple coupon match ups for you this evening. In the meantime, feel free to leave any great deals that you can come up with in the comments.

Now might also be a good time to start printing your coupons at,,, if you haven’t already!

Thanks for the heads up. I love when Kroger triples and I haven’t been to Kroger yet this week. I also love the free item coupons they sometimes send out in the coupon mailers. I have one for a free Reddiwip I will pick up at the same time…..oh and the Lunchables I won in the online hoop game they are running this month. It’s going to be a happy trip!

!!!!!!!! I was just thinking the other day about how great triple coupons are and how it would be months and months before Kroger did them again. What a wonderful surprise!

Just one off the top of my head – I don’t know the current price (moneysavingmom was guessing $1.67) but Ziploc bags have a current catalina of $2 when you buy 3. Use 3 .40/1 coupons from the 3/21 insert and after tripling and money OYNO they should be free plus a small money maker.

Thanks. I was going to go tonight but now I will wait until tomorrow. I’ll spend tonight getting together my list!!!

Wahoo! I LOVE triple coupons at Kroger. Our cashiers (St. Clairsville) are always amazed at the deals, and they don’t mind scanning coupons just to see how little we pay! :)

^That’s awesome!
My cashiers in Pataskala are nice, too. I’ve actually even had people BEHIND me in line watching my price come down as the coupons ring up.

They ask…where do you get the time to come in and figure all this out? It doesn’t take long to sort through things if you have your coupons in order, AND I’ve three times in a month referred someone to this blog! ;-)

Boo! Why does Kroger hate Dayton? I’m tempted to drive an hour to a store that will triple my coupons!

7 Tina March 25, 2010 at 8:13 AM

I’ve just checked to see if our Trimble OH store is participating and they are!!! Never seen it here before!!!

I ended up having to go to Kroger last night anyway – needed bread to make lunches for today. I noticed that Success Rice was on sale (not a great sale, only $.20/off or something like that). BUT I also found a $.50/1 any Success rice Q (can’t remember what insert), so that Q tripled plus the sale price should be a pretty good price, if you’re planning on doing the Success Rice and Princess & Frog REbate. It might not be the cheapest price on the rice (not sure) but it sure beats having to chase down the cheapest price.

Also, I checked with my store to see if they are participating in the triple coupon event (they are), but the manager seemed VERY surprised that I knew about it. She even asked me how I found out and said something about Kroger keeping it secret. Not sure I understand why they would want to keep something like that a secret. Advertising it would bring in lots of customers, I think. ANyway, can’t wait to see the match-ups you come up with. I went through my inserts last night and cut out anything that was for $.50 or less in case I find a great deal!!

Yeah I wonder why they don’t advertise the triple days. I certainly would have planned better for the week. And i am sure they would get more biz (although I know the employees dread seeing us coming with hands full of Qs!) :)

10 Tara March 25, 2010 at 9:33 AM

I had to ask the service desk about my bill yesterday and she told me their little ‘secret’ about the triple coupons. I was surprised that it was such a ‘hush hush’ thing too. She even said she wasnt allowed to tell me but…. How strange! I would think it would be such a great business promotion! Have fun shopping!

I’m so excited about triple coupons again – got some great bargains last time, saving almost 70% on my bill plus got 4 packs of razors free with B1G1 coupons combined with a B1G1 sale from Kroger. It was a very happy shopping trip!

The cashier at Dublin/Sawmill was very patient as she scanned our coupons too.

Does anyone know if Meijer ever does triple coupons?

12 Andrea @ March 25, 2010 at 9:40 AM

I love how you put not in quotes for us Cincy and Dayton folks. It’s like you know it hurts us a lot when we see this. LOL

13 Laura March 25, 2010 at 12:57 PM

Meijer has never tripled coupons to my knowledge. They used to do double $1 coupons, but that’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen that. At least all the central OH Meijers still double up to $0.99!

14 Chris March 25, 2010 at 1:44 PM

So jealous up here in MI! Our Kroger and Meijer stores only double up to 50c. Once or twice KMart doubled up to $2.

15 Brooke March 25, 2010 at 3:00 PM

There is a good deal on DealSeekingMom right now for Betty Crocker potatoes. She is guessing they are priced around $1. There is a catalina deal ( $.50 OYNO WYB 1; $1.50 OYNO WYB 2 & $3 OYNO WYB 3) and the $.25/1 coupon from 3/28 SS #2. With the triple coupons, that is a $2.25 MM WYB 3!

16 Marcy March 25, 2010 at 3:30 PM

Not trying to hurt you Andrea, I promise! I tend to get lots of questions about Cincy and Dayton…hence the emphasis. :-)

17 cheryl March 25, 2010 at 9:57 PM

YEA!!!!! now I need to get my butt off this computer so I can go organize this past Sunday’s Q’s….but what sucks is our microsoft OS system crashed & we are temporarily running on Linex but I can’t get any of the couponing sites to work correctly; does anyone know of a way to get Linex & coupon printing to get along? I get verytiny coupons or coupons with wording on top of wording & no bar codes

18 Lisa T. March 25, 2010 at 10:45 PM

You can add Perrysburg, OH to that list.

19 Whitney March 26, 2010 at 7:56 AM

Here are a few deals I saw from my trip yesterday (I apologize for not knowing the inserts right now):

4-pack Yo-Plus and Fiber One Yogurt sale priced at $2. Use .50/1 to get them for .50

Variety of Lysol cleaning products sale priced from 2.02 to 2.88 (with March to Madness). Use .50/1 to get them for as low as .52

Chocolate Chex Mix sale priced at $2. Use .50/1 Chocolate Chex mix only coupon to get for .50

Variety of Dole canned fruit sale priced at $1.08. Use .50/2 to get for .33 each WYB 2

Chocolate Cheerios on sale for $2.99. Use .50/1 to get for 1.49

20 Jenni March 26, 2010 at 8:10 AM

To add to Whiteny’s deal. Ziploc is also included in the buy 3 get $5 back rebate from SC Johnson.

21 Whitney March 26, 2010 at 1:45 PM

Check out the deal moneysavingmom posted today on Pillsbury Grands! that is a small moneymaker after the $4 catalina. You need to buy 6 and use 3 .30/2 coupons from the 1/3 GM insert or the 3/7 SS.

I don’t know if the price is the same in Central Ohio (.88) but with tripling it should at least make them very inexpensive. For those of you who don’t know what you’d do with six rolls of biscuits, even if they are free, I’ll tell you that they reheat very well. We just split them in half and pop them in the toaster. My husband thinks they’re better this way than fresh and will toast one or two for breakfast.

22 Whitney March 26, 2010 at 6:53 PM

Confirmed that Grands! biscuits are .98. Purchasing 6 using 3 .30/2 coupons and earning a $4 catalina make them free plus a small moneymaker.

Here are a couple more:

Dial bar soap 2-packs on sale for $1. Use .35/1 from 3/7 RP to get for free.

Pampers wipes tubs on sale for $2. .50/1 from 2/7 PG makes them .50

And to whoever wiped out my store’s Lysol toilet bowl cleaner since yesterday when there was plenty in stock (but my coupons were at home) – I’m giving you my best hormonal pregnant lady glare. ;)

23 Emily March 26, 2010 at 7:52 PM

Oh Whitney that stinks. I hope you’re store is not my store (Cemetery Rd in Hilliard). I actually don’t need any toilet bowl cleaner right now (I have 3 in stock already) but was going to buy some since they will be so cheap.

24 Marcy March 27, 2010 at 8:12 AM

Thanks so much to all of you for adding your deal ideas here. I had every intention of getting a list together to post here, but I haven’t even had the time to get my own shopping list together yet!

And Whitney, I can totally appreciate hormonal pregnancy glares…I have been giving several out myself lately! LOL (not much longer…)

25 Whitney March 27, 2010 at 1:34 PM

Emily – I hope your store is in stock. I considered stopping by the Avery store or Rome-Hilliard if I had a reason to be out there but that’s too much work for cheap toilet bowl cleaner. I have 2 in stock – but I was just so excited to get more in my stockpile!

Marcy – just a little over 5 more weeks for me. Then lots of tired, post-partum hormonal glares will be going around town.

26 Melissa March 27, 2010 at 4:19 PM

I know when I went last night to my Kroger (Wheeling, WV), I got four Betty Crocker Warm Delights (on sale for $2each) for free – $0.50/1 in the 2/7/10 GM insert tripled to $1.50 & I had (2) each of cellfire & shortcuts e-coupons loaded onto my card. I also got Club Crackers ($1.88) with a $1/1 q from (even though they were expired by a week, the cashier accepted them! woohoo!) & the nabisco crackers are included in the -$4 wyb 8 deal, making them $1.99 wyb 8 & I used the $1/1 nabisco qs but I can’t remember what insert they are from right now, sorry! I was going to look at the yoplait yogurt cups b/c we have $0.40/6 qs in the same 2/7 GM insert which would triple to $1.20/6 plus cellfire savings. HTH

27 Natalie March 28, 2010 at 2:25 PM

Emily and Whitney,

This may be too late…..but they had plenty of everything left (including Lysol TB cleaner) at Kroger on 161 in Dublin yesterday . I call it ‘old’ Kroger since Avery is newer! I didn’t check Avery though.
I have hormonal moments when I find shelves cleared and I’m not even pregnant!
Did anybody else notice that some products with 50c coupons available seemed unusually expensive this week during the sale? I took some ‘good’ coupons into the store to look around, but I couldn’t find any other good deals. Case in point, FRENCH’s mustard has a 50c coupon and I thought it might be around $1.50 but it was $2.35 ish. That seems higher than usual. I may be wrong, but I wonder if Kroger tries not to have too many items that are going to be really good deals during triple weeks.

28 Marcy March 28, 2010 at 3:09 PM

Whitney – sounds like we might be due the same week?!

Getting my coupons together to run to Kroger now. Hope they still have some of the good deals in stock! :-)

29 Whitney March 29, 2010 at 8:29 PM

Marcy – Scheduled c-section May 5! My second child, too.

30 Ashley March 25, 2011 at 5:13 PM

I had an awesome kroger experience today Kraft Homestyle Mac in in the mega event 2.09 after instant savings minus .50 (1.50) printables (there are 3 links including face book) makes them .59 each!
Danon 4 packs are also in the mega event I’m pretty sure they were 1.49 making them free with .50 coupon
Reach Floss- free
Listerine Pocket Packs- were less than .10 (I don’t have my receipt)
4 Pack of Philadelphia CC was free after .50 coupon
Reynolds Baking Cups were free after .50 coupon
Blistex was less than .10
and I also found purell Travel kit in the clearance section for .99 so free after $1 Q

Wow! I just happened accross this sight since the Kroger in Delaware at N. Houk is NOT doing the triple coupon this weekend. I was prepared to walk out owing cents when they informed me that they are not participating in the triple deal this weekend. This site just made it’s way to my favorites! I am looking to stock up the food pantry at my church and yet I have little clue what I am doing. I am open to any and all suggestions. My first question is what is OYNO and PG? Thanks for having this site up and available!

32 Marcy May 27, 2011 at 5:43 PM

Hi Crystal, glad you found me! :-)

This post is over a year old, and Kroger is not currently running triple coupons. But when they do, I’ll be sure to share it with you…hoping for another triple coupon promo this summer, but we’ll have to wait and see. :-)

33 Crystal May 28, 2011 at 8:44 AM

LOL! Helps to check the dates, huh? Thank you so much Marcy!
