Eddie Bauer Warehouse Store

Yesterday afternoon I was able to “escape” the house alone and meet up with my friend “K” to do some shopping. We went to the Eddie Bauer Warehouse store on the west side of Columbus, OH. I have several friends who have shopped at this store before, and they have all had great things to say. After going yesterday, I’m not sure why I hadn’t checked it out before now!

The front part of the store is the “outlet” section. This seems to be where they have their newer items, and the discounts are great, but not as great as in the “warehouse” section. The discounts in the warehouse section are crazy!

We spent about 3 hours there yesterday, and I must say it was totally worth it. Here are a few examples of what I was able to buy. Note that I also had a 20% off of my entire purchase coupon which I found in the Entertainment Book. The prices below reflect the additional 20% off:

* This shirt was $4.47
* This shirt was $4.00
* These shorts were $7.99
* A cover up very similar to this was $7.99
* A tank like this (dif. colored stripes) was $5.40
* This shirt was $4.47

I stocked up on t-shirts (black and white) and was also able to get a couple of cute shirts for fall that I had seen in the EB catalog in the past. I am a big fan of Eddie Bauer’s t-shirts and polos. I like a lot of their clothes, actually. I tend to buy “boring” basic stuff that won’t go out of style, so I like to buy things that are going to hold up. Everything I have purchased from Eddie Bauer has washed well, and I have never had an issue with quality.

I have blogged before about outlet shopping and why I’m normally not a huge fan. But I must say that this particular store passed my test yesterday. It was easy to navigate, I found lots of great basics that will always be in style, I recognized many things from the current catalog, and I did not spy tons of irregular or damaged items.

I used to shop at Eddie Bauer online with coupon codes (usually 20 or 30% off), but with shipping and tax, I typically spent a decent chunk of change to get what I wanted (which in some cases I was ok with). Now that I have been to the warehouse store, I’m thinking that I should just start making regular visits there before paying more to shop online. I also need to go back to check out the men’s clothes!

If you live in the Columbus area and haven’t checked this store out, I highly recommend it. Here is the address and phone #. They are open 7 days/week, but I don’t recall the hours. You can call ahead to verify.

What about you? Do you have any great “secrets” when it comes to buy quality clothing at a great price?
