Super Savings Saturday – Meijer

by Marcy on June 7, 2008 · 0 comments

This week I decided to do my grocery shopping at Meijer since they were having their “Buy 10 get the 11th free” sale. I used Sonshine’s post and my sale ad to get my list together. This week was a decent balance of what I need for the upcoming week, and of some items that I wanted to stockpile.

My Best Deals:

* 1 LiveActive Cereal – FREE
* 1 Hellmann’s Mayo – $0.20/ea
* 2 Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Packets – $0.21/ea
* 2 Old El Paso Refried Beans – $0.21/ea
* 1 Land O Lakes Spread – $0.40/ea
* 4 boxes of Green Giant Frozen Veggies – $0.40/ea
* 2 Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce – $0.50/ea
* 4 boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios – $0.60/ea
* 2 bags LiveActive Snack Cheese – $1/ea
* 2 boxes of Popsicles – $1/ea
* 2 Betty Crocker Brownie Mixes – $1.17/ea
* Kashi Granola Bars – $1.49
* Meijer Brand Fresh Chicken Breasts – $1.99/lb (I purchased a family pack for $7.66, split it up and froze it)
* 1 California Pizza Kitchen Frozen Pizza – $3.50

Additional Items I Purchased:

* Bananas
* Double pack of Strawberries
* 5 Green Apples
* 5 Ears of Sweet Corn
* 1 can Mandarin Oranges
* Bag of Brown Sugar
* 1 Loaf Whole Wheat Bread
* Box of Decaf. Tea
* Bag of Marshmallows
* 3 small containers of JIF Peanut Butter (on sale 3/$5)
* 2 boxes Organic Macaroni & Cheese
* 12 pack of beer (this is what threw me over budget…that’s what I get for taking my hubby along! :-))
* 1 Gallon 1% Milk
* 1 1/2 Gallon Organic Milk

Total Spent: $70.13
Total Coupons Used: $22.70
Total Spent for this week (including trip to CVS): $101.16
Total Coupons Used for this week: $48.82

For what I was able to purchase, I am happy with my total. Because we have been eating from our pantry/freezer a lot during the last several weeks, I will be focusing more effort into stockpiling this month. I’ll be interested to see how that impacts my monthly budget.
