More About Getting Organized

Update: I am adding this post to the 6/17 “Tackle it Tuesday” meme which is hosted weekly at 5 Minutes for Mom. If you have a project you would like to share, be sure to head on over to check it out!

I can keep my social calendar organized like none other, but when it comes to my house, sometimes I think I am hopeless.

I grew up in a small town where part of your worth as a woman was based on how good of a housekeeper you were (not sure if that was a small town thing, or just an old mindset). If that mindset still exists, I’d rather not think about it, because I know what the inside of my house looks like most days, and that would put my level of worthiness in the gutter!

All kidding aside, I am trying to tackle a few projects around the house this summer. We are trying to stay home more (i.e. save money on gas), so I feel like I should attempt to use some of that time to love my poor neglected house.

Today I decided to tackle the awkward cupboard above my microwave. It is the cupboard where I stash all of the leftover pieces and parts from birthday parties, baby showers and BBQs, and every time I open the doors, something inevitably falls in my face.

I decided to use some leftover storage containers that were hanging out in my closet…they are nothing fancy, but did the trick. This took me all of ten minutes, and I’m hoping it’ll solve the falling objects problem.

Next up: Getting our chest freezer ready for our 1/4 beef that is arriving two months ahead of schedule! Fortunately, I have plenty of space…

Update: My “gadgets” drawer (that I posted about here) is staying organized. Thankfully, the drawer organizer doesn’t really leave enough room for things to get messy. I still love it!
