My Meijer Loot

Yesterday, I decided to brave the rain and to drive to Meijer. I have only shopped for groceries at Meijer one other time, and it was a LONG time ago. As I mentioned in my Meijer Deals post this week, the Motts Juice price was enough to encourage me to make the trip.

I purchased the above items for $23.54 after using my coupons. Check out the above mentioned post if you want links to some of the printable coupons that I used.

Here is a brief rundown of prices after coupons:

* Motts Juice & 6 packs of Applesauce – $1.17/ea

* Strawberries – $1.50/ea

* LiveActive Cheese – $0.99/ea (you can try to print 2 – $2/1 coupons here but I’m not sure if this coupon is still active or not)

* Bertolli Pasta Sauce – $0.50

* Olive Oil – $7.71 (it was 25% off)

Overall, I thought I had a pretty successful trip. It wasn’t the nicest store around, but the prices were decent and my cashier was really nice. I was expecting prices to be a lot cheaper based on feedback that I have received, but I thought most prices I looked at were comparable. I only looked at name brand products though, and obviously couldn’t look at everything.

With all of the shopping around that I have been doing in the last year or so, I have learned that no one store has the cheapest price on everything (I’m sure this is a big “duh” comment to many of you!). They all have to make their money somehow. Shopping around, while sometimes cumbersome, really is the best way to get the most for your money. That is assuming you aren’t driving all over the world and burning up a lot of gas money. :)
