Here is a hot deal from Groupon – a daily deals site that allows you to score amazing deals on a wide variety of products and services.

Today ONLY (Thursday, 8/19/10), you can purchase a $50 Gap Gift Certificate for only $25!! This offer is valid at all Gap stores across the country, excluding outlet stores. There is a limit of 1 certificate per person and there is some additional fine print that you’ll need to read. (In a nutshell – this offer is valid in stores only and expires on 11/19/10.)

If I had to guess I would say that this deal is going to be extremely popular, so if you experience down time on the Groupon site, be sure to keep trying. Rumor has it this deal will not sell out and will be available all day.

If you are not currently signed up for Groupon, sign up here. It is quick and painless, and you’ll quickly become addicted to all of the great daily deals. :-)

Good luck! Hopefully we will all be able to grab this great deal before the end of the day!

Thanks, Southern Savers!

I don’t know about you, but I am counting down the days until my 4 year old goes back to preschool! With a newborn in the house we have been cooped up a little more than normal this summer, and my oldest is constantly asking when she can go back to school (thankfully she loves it!). She still doesn’t quite grasp the concept of time, so when my friend Summer told me about a fun way that she counts down the remaining days until school starts with her 4  year old son, I was so excited! (It’s not only fun, but super cheap too!). I know what activity we are going to be doing on Friday. :-)

Be sure to check out her post here.

What creative ways do you count down fun events with your kids?

New Addition

by Marcy on May 11, 2010

I am so happy to announce that yesterday my husband, daughter and I welcomed as new addition to our family! Our baby girl was born yesterday afternoon at 3:40 and we are all doing great.

Things may be a little quieter than normal around here this week, but I still have plenty of things planned including more giveaways, a couple of guest posts and a few other deals. I appreciate your patience if I don’t respond to your comments or emails as quickly, but I’ll do my best to respond as I can. Thanks! :-)

Couponing for Community

by Marcy on April 28, 2010

One of the things that I love the most about using coupons is being able to donate items to my local food bank or other charities. If you are a “stockpiler” as well, you have no doubt found your shelves bursting with a few too many items at one time or another. That’s why I wanted to let you know about a fun campaign that fellow blogger Kaley of Cha Ching on a Shoestring is spearheading called Couponing for Community.

During the week of May 2-8, Kaley is asking you to give away a portion of your stockpile to those in need, with the thought being that if we all unite, we can make a huge impact! You can get all of the details on Kaley’s site here.

What about you? Do you already donate items from your stockpile on a regular basis? What tips/tricks do you have for managing your stockpile? For example, how do you make room for it, and do you have a system for making sure that your food doesn’t expire?

After I posted about FREE summer movies at Regal Cinemas last night, my friend Danielle emailed me to let me know about a summer movie promotion going on at Cinemark Theaters called Summer Movie Clubhouse. Cinemark will be showing 10 weeks of kids films this summer and if you purchase tickets in advance, you can see 10 movies for just $5! Or you can purchase tickets for these movies at the box office for just $1/ea!

This promotion is running mid-June through mid-August at Cinemark Theaters across the country. Get more info, including a list of shows, times and dates for your local area here.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of 20th Century Fox. All opinions are 100% mine.

Tomorrow night my husband and I are going on a (RARE!) date night to celebrate our anniversary before baby #2 is born (thanks to my step sister!!). We tend to head to the movie theater on the few occasions that we are able to escape on our own, and tomorrow will be no exception. While we are still debating which movie to see (he wants to see that popular 80′s remake!), I am leaning more toward the new Date Night Movie starring Tina Fey and Steve Carrell. I saw the trailer for this movie when I went to the theater with a friend for my birthday recently, and it looks hilarious!

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, you can check it out here:

“Date Night” opens tomorrow April 9th, 2010 in theaters nationwide. If we do end up seeing it, I’ll be sure to come back here and let you know what I think!

While I am on the subject of date nights, I am curious – how do you and your significant other find ways to go on dates on the cheap? I shared a few of my ideas with you in a post last year (check it out here.) I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions as well!
