Peanut Butter Cup and Yogurt Parfait with Bananas

I am in total denial, but summer break is nearing its end, and my kiddos will be back to school before I know it! I have already started searching for back to school deals on backpacks, lunch boxes and shoes..and I am starting to see lots of great food coupons and prices popping up as well.  Now is a great time to stock up on office supplies (for your home), cereal, lunch box snacks and more.

Let’s talk about cereal for a minute. These next few weeks are the absolutely best time to stock up on cereal. Cereal sales plus coupons can equal mega deals! And the best part is, cereal can be used in all kinds of dishes… breakfast, lunch, dinners and more. Talk about stretching your buck!

POST Cereals Back to School

When I was at Walmart last week, I picked up Malt-O-Meal Peanut Butter Cup and Malt-O-Meal Marshmallow Mateys® cereal. I thought it would be fun to add the Peanut Butter Cup cereal to a yogurt and banana parfait to give it a little bit of crunch…yum! You truly can’t beat the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. I spent plenty of time snacking on this cereal dry while making the parfaits. ;-)

Speaking of Malt-O-Meal, have you seen these bags of cereal at Walmart? At my local Walmart stores they are typically to the right of the boxes of cereal in the cereal aisle. If you haven’t paid attention, be sure to keep an eye out for these cereals. They have tons of popular varieties, and you get a huge quantity of cereal for the money! With 33+ choices, no high-fructose corn syrup, and a money back guarantee, you can’t go wrong.

There are several other new cereal varieties from Post as well..including Shredded Wheat Frosted Cinnamon Roll. It offers the delicious cinnamon roll taste that you love, with the wholesomeness of 100% whole grain shredded wheat.

So, let me tell you more about my super easy to make Peanut Butter Cup and Yogurt Parfait with Bananas!

Step one: Assemble your ingredients.
Peanut Butter Cup and Yogurt Parfait with Bananas Recipe

I used bananas, vanilla Greek yogurt, and Malt-O-Meal Peanut Butter Cup cereal. Don’t forget cups or bowls to put the parfaits in!

Step Two: Assemble the parfaits.

Step Two

For two parfaits I sliced 2 bananas, and layered in this order: yogurt, bananas, cereal, until I filled my cups. I crushed a few pieces of cereal to garnish the top with, but that’s totally optional. If you wanted this treat to be a little richer and more dessert-like, you could also add mini chocolate chips or drizzle it with chocolate sauce!
