Kroger Gift Card Giveaway

Today was officially National Ice Cream Day, but I’ll be honest…my family doesn’t need a special day to justify eating ice cream! It is our go to summer splurge, especially when the temps are high.

We go out for ice cream, but I also like to buy treats for home sometimes. I especially do this if I find a great sale on ice cream or novelties at the store.

My mom made a great homemade milkshake when I was growing up, and every now and then I like to do the same for my own kids. My girls love choosing the ice cream flavor and coming up with new concoctions.

If we are making milkshakes at home, I go all out. The best way to make a decadent milkshake is to start with high quality ingredients, so tonight we ran to Kroger and picked up Promised Land Milk and Breyers Ice Cream.

Today my 10 year old got to choose our shake flavor. If I had had my way, we would have gone with Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream, because it’s a classic! Made with simple ingredients like fresh cream, sugar, milk and Rainforest Alliance Certified vanilla beans, you can’t go wrong.

Something that I didn’t know until recently: most Breyers products currently source natural colors & flavors and sustainably farmed fruit and Vanilla. For more information on these products, visit www.breyers.com/product

I love using whole/vitamin D milk to make the shakes even more creamy, and Promised Land Milk was the perfect milkshake milk! Promised Land Milk doesn’t add artificial hormones or antibiotics – something that is super important to me as the mom of two young girls. Promised Land comes in both Plain (Whole/Red Label) Milk and Midnight Chocolate flavor, and comes from Jersey cows, which makes it naturally higher in protein and calcium.

Kroger Milkshake 2

Our shake night for 4 turned in to shake night for 6 when we had a couple of neighbor kids stop by. The more, the merrier! (they liked the long twisty straws)

I was able to use the entire bottle of milk and almost the entire tub of Breyers Ice Cream to make 6 shakes. It was like these two products were perfectly portioned to work together to make an rich and delicious shake! I’m sitting here now thinking up the possibilities… Breyers Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Promised Land Chocolate Milk. Breyers Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream with Promised Land White Milk. The list goes on and on! ;-)
