I have been blogging about grocery deals since 2008, and while I still shop around for deals as my schedule allows, my “home base” when it comes to grocery shopping is Giant Eagle. I love their produce and I love their meat, I know where everything is in my local store and it is just a nice place to shop. And so, I do my best to save where I can, splurge a little at times, and pretty much always leave happy. Not to mention Giant Eagle offers great ways to save, including loyal customer coupons, electronic coupons, weekly sales and more. Also? Fuelperks! are the best! ;-)
If you hit your local grocery store every week like I do, you have likely been seeing the signs of fall all over the place. I love discovering an end cap of fall themed snack and grocery items that aren’t available to me all of the time. It’s fun to try new things and come up with tasty new recipes.
This past weekend I found an end cap at my local Giant Eagle that had all kinds of yummy fall offerings! Perhaps you have found some of these fall Market District products at your local Giant Eagle store too?
Here are some of the products that you might find:
- Salted Caramel Cider
- Orange Spice Cider
- Pear Ginger Cider
- Ginger Snap Granola (box)
- Pumpkin Cranberry Granola (box)
- Pumpkin Spice Syrup
- Apple Butter Syrup
- Pumpkin Tortilla Chips
At my Powell Giant Eagle store, I found these products on an end cap near the cereal – facing the meat counter. I decided to snag a bag of Market District Pumpkin Tortilla Chips and a jar of the Market District Pumpkin Spice Syrup for a fun twist on dessert nachos. I thought it sounded like a fun dish to serve during the Ohio State game on Saturday night. These nachos were savory and sweet and had just the right touch of pumpkin flavor!
Here is how I made them:
First, to make things easy, I purchased a No Bake Cheesecake Mix to go along with my Giant Eagle Market District Fall Products. You could certainly make these with a softened block of cream cheese and some powdered sugar if you prefer.
All that I did to make my cream cheese nacho dip was to follow the boxed cheesecake mix directions, which involved adding the mix and milk to my bowl and mixing them in my mixer. After the cheesecake mixture was combined, I added 2 Tablespoons of Pumpkin Spice Syrup to the cheesecake mixture and mixed until combined.
I refrigerated the cheesecake mixture for an hour, then I arranged it on a pretty pumpkin plate with some of the Pumpkin Tortilla Chips. Here is the end result:
