family movie night cvs pharmacy snacks

We have been having cooler, rainy weather the past couple of days, so I thought it would be fun to have family movie night at our house. We love to go to the theater, but it can get expensive! I love that I can run to my local CVS/pharmacy and stock up on snacks on the cheap. (see how I save on snacks and sun care for the pool/waterpark here). I snagged this movie theater candy on sale for $1.00 each, and the box of mini bags of popcorn was also $1.00. I also had some Extra Bucks Rewards that I redeemed, making this haul a steal!

couponing on the run at cvs pharmacy

These days I find myself couponing on the run a lot. I used to feel guilty that I am not able to devote as much time to couponing as I once did, but any little bit that I save is worth it. These days I tend to shop at the stores that make it easy for me to save, and CVS definitely falls in to this category. The more that I shop at CVS using my Extra Care card, the more coupons I receive. And they are tailored to products that I actually purchase – a win, win!

Three things that I always try to do when shopping at CVS to maximize my savings:

1) Scan my Extra Care card in the “magic” coupon machine when I enter the store

2) Check prices on CVS store brand products – they are often cheaper, and (in my experience) the quality is great!

3) Take advantage of Extra Bucks Rewards promotions each week to stock up on items that we use often

After loading up on snacks for our family movie night, I stopped by the RedBox machine on my way out of the store to pick up a movie. How convenient is that?! For this go round I picked up The Nut Job…hopefully my kids will like it!

For less than the price of one ticket at the movie theater, my family is going to enjoy a fun movie night in tonight! How do you save on entertainment for your family?
