If you live in Ohio you are probably aware that the Ohio State Fair kicked off yesterday, July 25, 2012. I haven’t been to the state fair since I was a little girl in 4H, so I’m thrilled to be heading to the fair with my family tomorrow!
While there, we are going to stop by Rhodes Auditorium to check out Seattle’s Best Coffee Red Cup Showdown, where contestants will be competing to make the most delicious and imaginative coffee creation in the US! If you are a fan of the show Food Network Star (I have watched every season!), you will be excited to learn that season 7 winner Jeff Mauro (the Sandwich King) is hosting this event. I know that I am excited. :-)
The Ohio State Fair finalist will be sent to New York City to compete for the grand prize against finalists from the Iowa, California, Illinois and Wisconsin state fairs as well as one Facebook finalist. In addition to a trip to the Big Apple in late August, the Ohio finalist will receive $500 and free coffee for a year! The Grand Prize Winner will receive $10,000 and a chance for their recipe to be on the Seattle’s Best Coffee Menu.
The competition fun takes place tomorrow (Friday, July 27, 2012) from 11-1 in the Rhodes Auditorium (east). And if you can’t make it during those 2 hours, you’ll still want to stop by the Seattle’s Best booth to sample FREE iced coffee including: Cotton Candy Mochas, Elephant Ear Lattes, and Caramel Pretzel Mochas (oh my, yum!!). But the fun doesn’t stop there! You will also be able to pose for a souvenir photo, grab a FREE sample of Seattle’s Best Coffee to brew at home, and take a spin at the prize wheel where you could win one of thousands of dollars worth of prizes!
The Seattle’s Best Coffee Exhibit will be at the Ohio State Fair Friday, July 27- Sunday, July 29th, so be sure to stop by! The weather looks amazing this weekend – perfect for the fair.
