$100 Target Gift Card Giveaway Sponsored by Invisalign Teen | 2012 Back to School Bash #wingiveaways

by Marcy on July 31, 2012 · 437 comments

Back to school is right around the corner, and I’m still trying to adjust to the fact that I’ll have a first grader who will be in school all day, every day! While I am fortunate that she doesn’t care too much about being “cool” just yet, the fact is most kids do – especially as they move in to those tween and teen years.

We all know how important a smile is, and frequently it takes braces to achieve the smile that most of us want. I vividly remember many of my friends going through the braces phase in school, and it did not look like fun! Now that I am the parent to 2 young girls, I have already thought ahead to those braces years, and when it comes to their self-esteem, I’m thrilled that we will have an option other than metal braces if that’s what they choose.

You are likely familiar with Invisalign – makers of clear, nearly invisible (and removable!) braces, but did you know that they also make products tailored especially to teens? Invisalign Teen was developed with orthodontists who understand the active lifestyles, unique treatment and compliance needs of teens. The Invisalign Teen product is an effective alternative to metal braces, with features like the blue Compliance Indicators that fade as the alinger is worn and Eruption Tabs that accommodate the growth of secondary molars.

Below is a picture of my friend Jen’s daughter (on the right), and her niece (on the left). Can you tell which girl is wearing Invisalign Teen?

If you guessed the girl on the right you are correct, but WOW is it hard to tell!

It isn’t hard to see why teens want Invisalign Teen! In addition to being much less obvious than metal braces, they are also comfortable and durable which makes them easier to wear when playing sports and playing musical instruments – two activities that are challenging with metal braces. They can also be removed when eating – which means no off limit foods! Regular dental hygiene (flossing) is also a non issue with Invisalign Teen.

Parents with teens will also appreciate that Invisalign Teen includes a replacement guarantee for up to 6 lost aligners…just in case! ;-)

You can learn MUCH more about Invisalign and Invisalign Teen products including how they work here. Or check them out on Facebook and Twitter. You can also take an Invisalign self-assessment here.

And if you are a fan of sweepstakes, be sure to check out the Invisalign Teen and Radio Disney Straight Up Celebration Sweepstakes – where you can enter to win an all expenses paid family of four trip to LA to meet the Radio Disney N.B.T. Season 5 winner, a $2000 scholarship and FREE Invisalign Teen treatment! Entries are being accepted through 12/8/12.

I like the Invisalign because they are less obvious and durable yet comfortable, especially since we just discovered my daughter will need braces. I used to wear the metal braces as a kid and they were obvious and also rather uncomfortable inside your mouth sometimes.

209 Deanne Gayler August 1, 2012 at 3:51 PM

Look the look for the teens, especially girls. My girls would have loved them, they all hated the metal and the sores when it ripped inside their mouths, so glad they are here in time for the grandkids :)
