2011 Holiday Giveaway Bash | Solia Hair Dryer & Flat Iron from Folica.com #wingiveaways

by Marcy on November 12, 2011 · 373 comments

It's All About the Hair - Folica.com“I’m having a bad hair day!” How many times have you heard (or uttered) that statement? Since having my two kids I *think* that statement nearly every day when looking in the mirror, hence why you’ll almost always find my hair in a bun or a pony tail.

That’s why when Folica.com offered to be one of the sponsors of our Holiday Giveaway Bash, my ears perked up.

So many times we hear about a great new product for our hair (be it a shampoo, a flat iron, a brush, a dryer, etc) now available in salons that has been designed to combat the very same hair problem that you have always had. The problem is – where do you find these products? Maybe the salons in your area don’t carry it…or maybe in order to get the products you want, you would have to go to several different salons. Or maybe you are like me and just prefer to do all your shopping online?!

Folica.com is your one-stop shopping site for all of your haircare needs. They carry almost every product that you can think of to clean, condition, treat and style your hair. They offer FREE shipping on orders over $50, and often run a promotion for anywhere from 10-20% off your entire order!

To introduce me to some of the high-end products available on Folica.com, I was sent the following products to review:

  • Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer: The Solia Thermal Ionic Dryer is an Italian engineered, 1875 Watt Professional Thermal Ionic Dryer designed to produce millions of negative ions that benefit the hair, making it shinier, smoother, and healthier.
  • Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-1/4″) plus free heat proof pouch: features the Dynamic Alignment System to ensure perfect contact between your hair and the plates. It supplies even heat distribution for true silky straight hair. Its ceramic/tourmaline ion technology will generate gentle far-infrared heat and extra negative ions to create the perfectly frizz-free hair without heat damage. Kiss bad hair days goodbye! Now available in classic black, pink, red and purple color editions.

My main complaint about my hair since having kids (getting older, whatever you want to call it!!) is the frizz. I once had smooth, fine straight hair. I now have a massive fuzz ball on my head that I don’t have the time or energy to tame 99% of the time. I do go to the salon regularly for hair cuts and highlights, and I have asked more than one stylist what to do to tame my frizz. I have tried new shampoos and conditioners, new “anti-frizz” leave in products – I even inquired about getting a treatment in the salon for my fuzz. After determining my hair is not damaged, I pretty much gave up. THEN the Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer
arrived.

I have been using a $20ish drug store hair dryer for years. It never occurred to me that my hair dryer could be contributing to my frizz – and BOY WAS I WRONG! The Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer is super powerful – drying my hair in much less time than my old model. But the best part?? The best part is I can get my hair smooth enough to not have to bust out my flat iron if I don’t feel like it. I honestly can’t believe it. Occassionaly I am not able to get my hair as smooth as I want with just the dryer, so I also reviewed the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-1/4″) plus free heat proof pouch. I honestly had no complaints about my old flat iron, however I have found the Solia Flat Iron to be a little easier to hold and maneuver.

And while I am still sporting many a pony tail, I am finally starting to put a little more time back into doing my hair now that I have these products. I honestly could not be more pleased. Both items are a bit of an investment if you are used to drug store prices – but I honestly believe they are worth it. And with the holidays coming up – these would be great items to put on your wish list!

If you decide that you would like to purchase these as a gift for yourself or someone else, Folica.com is offering exclusive savings to my readers: Save 30% off the Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron (1-1/4″) plus free heat proof pouch AND the Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer when you use the coupon code: SOLIASAVINGS at checkout. This code is only valid through 11/18/2011!

WIN IT! Folica.com has also given me a Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron and a Solia 1875W Thermal Ionic Hair Dryer to give away to one lucky winner!

My biggest challenge is getting my thick, long hair dry. I am using an old dryer and it takes forever. I have been thinking about replacing it – to win this would be great!

2 Andrea November 12, 2011 at 12:07 PM

My biggest hair challenge is I have thick hair and it takes forever to blow dry and then it gets huge. So I then have to flat iron. So it takes 1 1/2 hr to do my hair.

3 Francesca November 12, 2011 at 12:09 PM

Hi Marcy! My biggest hair challenge is probably that my hair has been thinning out since childhood. My hair has no volume as a result and is pretty flat. These styling tools would be a big help, though, I’m sure!

4 Francesca November 12, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Also, could I get a second entry into the giveaway? I subscribe to your blog via Google Reader.

5 Mickelle November 12, 2011 at 12:10 PM

Ahh…just what I need. I have serious issues with dryness and humidity, so this would be great!

6 Bianca Roman November 12, 2011 at 12:19 PM

I have curly hair and live in Florida, so my biggest hair care challenge is trying to get my hair to cooperate and not frizz and to try my hardest to keep moisture in!!!

as u get older your hair changes; i have naturally curly hair and it tends to get frizzy very easily. i straighten it most of the time and the hair dryer and straightener you’re giving away sound like they would help out alot with these hair troubles.

13 Kimmie November 12, 2011 at 12:32 PM

My biggest hair challenge is getting some volume in my hair as I have very fine hair.

14 Regina Trobee November 12, 2011 at 12:35 PM

One of my biggest hair problems is that my mother kept my hair dryer when I moved. I like to shower in the mornings, and now that winter is coming I will be leaving the house with wet hair again. :(

My biggest hair challenge is that my hair is long, thick and very curly. It is also changing texture as I get older. I just moved out to the west coast and don’t have a dryer or flat iron, so I am using lots of products. To have these products would be great.

I subscribe to your blog via IGoogle, I like yours and Folica’s FB page and I posted this contest on my page.

Hope I win!

My biggest hair problem – um probably that I try to use the heat vents in my car instead of a hair dryer… I don’t often take the time to style my hair, but would love a flat iron to help!

20 Lorri mckinney November 12, 2011 at 12:52 PM

my biggest challange is fine flyaway hair.

21 Jo Alice Olin November 12, 2011 at 12:53 PM

My greatest challenge is humidity in the south. Keeping the curl in can be frustrating.

22 Melanie November 12, 2011 at 12:56 PM

My biggest hair challenge is frizz and time! If I had the resources to prevent and straighten properly I’d have lovely thick hair.

The biggest challenge with my hair is that for so odd reason it’s been falling out alot. so I went and got a check-up just to make sure that everything was fine and thank GOD it is….. I would really like one of your irons because I can then straighten my hair and not worry about washing it every day since, I have very long curly hair…. thank you

55 Bobbi Carlin November 12, 2011 at 5:51 PM

My biggest hair care challenge is deciding what to do with it! It’s been thinning out since I had my daughter, and, is that in-between wavy style that is not cute at all! I either have to mouse it up and dry it while scrunching it, or blow dry it out and straighten it to avoid looking like I just rolled out of bed.

56 Andrea Despain November 12, 2011 at 6:01 PM

My biggest problem is the thinning of my hair since giving birth twice with not too much time in between. It used to be thick and is now very thin and difficult to work with as well seemingly greasy AND frizzy at the same time. Very frustrating.

I am an email subscriber, like both pages on facebook and promoted the contest! I have an odd hair problem…when wet my hair is half wavy, from mid-strand to ends. Almost like a grown out perm but not. Roots are straight. So when my hair dries naturally(I don’t use a blow dryer) it has a funky texture! I’ve always wanted to try a flat iron to see how my hair would look then.
