The progresso soup deal is better at Acme this week….B1G2 free sale! Comes out to 91 cents a piece before the coupon. I bought 9 and used two $1/4 coupons :)

2 Jennifer October 13, 2011 at 9:32 PM

The general mills cereal deal is better if you clipped the $3 off 4 e-coupon they had available a few weeks ago….I got 4 boxes for $8 minus the $3 e-coupon….so 4 boxes for $5.00

3 Brenda Gardner October 14, 2011 at 11:29 AM

There are no Acme stores in central Ohio.

4 Kim October 14, 2011 at 10:23 PM

The Dole fruit cup deal is better because when you buy 4 it gives you a 75 cent catalina off your next shopping trip. Glad that I bought 8!

5 Kristina October 18, 2011 at 1:08 PM

I just wanted to post this here in case some one makes the same mistake I did. I ordered in several cases of the Glade Solids/Aerosols during the buy 2 get $2 ONYO deal. I was told that if they come in after the promotion I could get all of the $2 catalinas I was due on a store gift card. They just came in and then the store wanted to give me a hard time redeeming the raincheck because they would make the items free. I mentioned that that wasn’t my fault, that this was what the promotion was when I made the order. The manager said this was the last time they were doing this, and I asked doing what? honoring a raincheck? And he said going back several weeks for a sale. I said isn’t that what a raincheck is? And he said the problem was with the OYNO part. I was basically made to feel like a jackass for getting a raincheck and using it. He said only one of the coupons would have printed anyway – I personally made a purchase of 12 items and received 6 coupons in the same transaction. I told them it wasn’t my fault that GE had a promotion that made things “free”. I wasn’t even trying to use a coupon – could you imagine if I did? Funny thing is my 2 cases of Reach toothbrushes came in, and they put them out on the floor. They are reordering them – but when they come in I will be using a coupon to make each one free. Oh the joy of THAT transaction.

6 Jennifer October 18, 2011 at 8:49 PM

Kristina, that sounds very frustrating. I do think it is things like what you did (not that there is anything wrong with it) is what makes the stores want to change their coupon policy. BUT, they should have realized when they put that deal together that people would be all over that aerosol deal that made 2 free after the catalina. That was totally their own fault for including that in the deal. I think it is terrible when stores treat the customers poorly for buying the products they advertised.

7 Joy October 19, 2011 at 1:44 PM

Jennifer, I kind of agree with you about the stores changing their policy because of things like that, but I want to say thank you to Kristina for at least being considerate enough to special order her multiples rather than clearing the shelf so that other people who want to enjoy a deal can also get their free “fill in the blanks”, because most people arent that considerate. Thanks Kristina!

8 Kristina October 19, 2011 at 6:47 PM

Well I felt so horrible and embarrassed…. I even told them when I made the order it was for a local foodbank/shelter and I mentioned it again when got the raincheck. I see what you are saying about their coupon policy – but I wasn’t using a coupon to make the purchase… if the order had come in that week it would have printed out 108 $2 OYNO coupons (in theory) because the manager had confirmed there were no limits to the sale. It just tookthem 3 weeks to get in the products. And I don’t know if some of these items are really on backorder or GE holds them in the warehouse because of the sales. Just like Walmart does – then stocks the shelves when the sale is over or if there is a coupon involved after the coupon expires. Oh well. a lesson learned.

9 Vanessa August 18, 2012 at 11:03 AM

All of these coupons are listed as expiring in 2011…its 2012. Is this correct? Or are you using expired coupons?

10 Vanessa August 18, 2012 at 11:05 AM

Oh goodness…now I see that I’m looking at ads from a year ago! I need more coffee! haha So sorry for the dumb question.
