Summer Reading Programs at Barnes & Noble and Borders + More Summer Fun

by Jennifer on May 17, 2011 · 0 comments

Summer is a great time for free and discounted kids activities! Summer reading programs are one of my favorite freebies, and both Barnes & Noble and Borders book stores offer them.

Barnes & Noble has a downloadable journal for your kids to fill out and when they have read 8 books, and they can bring the journal into their local store to get a book for free. This program is available for grades 1-6 and there is a set list of free books to choose from.  Go here for all the information.

At Borders, if you read 10 books you can get 1 book free.  If you are 12 and under you can participate.  Download your form here and then bring it into your local store starting June 1, 2011.

Be sure to check out your local library for summer reading programs as well!

Are you looking for more summer fun ideas? Learn how your kids can bowl free all summer long here. And if you live in Central Ohio, be sure to check out all of the Central Ohio Summer Movie Series discounts available in 2011 in my post here.
