Giveaway: VeggieTales Twas the Night Before Easter DVD (5 Winners!)

by Marcy on March 8, 2011 · 368 comments

For the first time in 7 years, Big Idea has released a new VeggieTales Easter DVD: Twas the Night Before Easter. With this new movie comes the creation of a new veggie character – Cassie Cassava – voiced by American Idol alum Melinda Doolittle (love her!).

In true VeggieTales style, this new DVD teaches kids about the true meaning of Easter – and what it means to help others.

In addition to finding Twas the Night Before Easter on the Big Idea website, you can also find it on endcaps at Walmart stores nationwide. You will even find a VeggieTales Easter Egg Dye Kit attached to the DVD found in stores, making this bundle a fun gift for your favorite little people. :-)

VeggieTales partnered with World Vision on the release of this new DVD, and in the extra features you will find an animation of Bob and Larry encouraging child sponsorship through World Vision. Learn more about this partnership and how to sponsor a child here.

I am thrilled that Big Idea has given me 5 copies of VeggiesTales: Twas the Night Before Easter to give away to 5 lucky winners, just in time for Easter!

I always loved the egg hunt! The whole family would go to my grandparents house for a huge meal, and all the kids would have a big egg hunt in their yard.

44 Donna Stephens March 8, 2011 at 4:56 PM

My Favorite, is the carrots we put out for the Easter Bunny. We put them on a plate and leave them out. When my kids go to bed , I get my grater out and grate them up and sometimes eat a little to.Lol…….. Then when the kids get up, they think the bunny ate them and it is a little more believable. Happy Easter, Donna

For as long as I can remember we as a family had always attended a sunrise service somewhere close by. There is something to be said about begining this particular day with a special service, waking up and knowing that we celebrate a morning like no one has ever known, because of a man named Jesus.

Our favorite tradition is spending time with our boys and hunting Easter eggs. The Easter bunny also leaves them a few items on Easter morning.

56 Angela Kalnins March 8, 2011 at 5:04 PM

We tell our grandkids the REAL Easter story each year as we’re coloring eggs… we tell them that we’re coloring eggs in bright, exciting colors to celebrate the return of Jesus–like we use brightly colored balloons for birthdays…Jesus broke through the “shell’ of death” to be born again as something new and wonderful.

57 Brooke D March 8, 2011 at 5:04 PM

My favorite Easter traditon is our neighborhood “Flashlight Egg Hunt” that we host in our back yard. Since most of our kids are “too old” for the traditional day time hunt…I adapted the whole night to make a fun event that everyone can enjoy. We still dye eggs so I can get my scrapbook pages in but it is a fun weekend while learning about the REAL reason for Easter…Three days later…He has risen!!! I would love to show the DVDs before or after our egg hunt! : )

Catholics begin the celebration of Easter on the Saturday evening before, with the Easter Vigil. My family likes to attend this celebration. It begins outdoors with the lighting of the Easter fire that will light the candles in church. In our community, the Boy Scout troop is responsible for the fire. (Who better to do the job?) The boys stay outside while everyone else goes into the church, and they tend the fire until it burns out.

I still love to dye the eggs, dip in one color then another & see what happens…it’s a great big experiment. With my 4yo’s help last yr we ended up with all brown eggs LOL but he loved it! he was so proud to show the grandparents the pretty eggs he colored. & I love the egg hunt; we now have over an acre so I think this yr it will be at our house & it will be HUGE!

201 Emilia Smith March 8, 2011 at 10:28 PM

We try to make Easter Sunday all about Christ, so we do all of the egg hunting and fun the day before. On Easter, we attend church as a family and have a meal together with friends and neighbors afterwards as we enjoy the glory of the new spring season all around us.

359 leslie zane March 10, 2011 at 10:24 PM

Another tradition is where we all get together with our family and everyone has to “stay in your church clothes” until the last person gets to the house. This is so we ALL can makes pictures together. It is getting hilarious. We have 7 grand children, and 12 great grandchildren. Plus the adults, which is what makes it seem more like an Olan Mills photo shoot than an Easter family get together!
But its all done with a whole lot of laughs and so much love that I know Jesus is pleased!

I just love getting together with the family and playing outside in the nice spring weather. I hope it is always nice at least.
