Set up a CollegeAdvantage 529 Account and get up to $50 FREE + a Giveaway

by Jennifer on December 27, 2010 · 55 comments

The Ohio Tuition Trust Authority is offering a match in contributions for new CollegeAdvantage Accounts.  Through December 31, 2010 the OTTA will match up to $25 in contributions.  Use code GETSTARTED when you open your new account here to receive your match.

If you set up an autosave option on the account you will receive another $25 matching bonus after the third direct deposit, which means you can get an extra $50 set aside for your child’s college education.

Ohioans can also receive a tax deduction on their contributions (up to $2,000 per child in 2010, more next year) including grandparents.

If you would like to open a CollegeAdvantage account for your child or grandchild visit www.CollegeAdvantage.com or call 1-800- AFFORD IT (233-6734) to request an enrollment kit. You can also get more info here.

The folks at CollegeAdvantage have also given me 3 – $100 credits to give away to 3 of you – to be placed in your CollegeAdvantage 529 account!

What am I giving away?

(3) $100 Scholarships or credits to your CollegeAdvantage 529 account (if you don’t have one, they will assist you in setting it up)

I have set up a 529 account for my kids, but haven’t been able to contribute to it for a while because of the economy. Since we already have one set up, I’m not eligible for the $25 matches, so would LOVE to be one of the $100 winners to add to our existing account! Thanks for the chance!

We have an account set up for all three boys. Haven’t been able to contribute nearly as much as planned this year. We basically contribute all gift money from grandparents/aunts/uncles. Will be nice one day to tell them all the people that contributed to their education.

I’m a subscriber, too. ;-)

We haven’t set one up yet – we are still working on paying off all debt in our Dave Ramsey Plan. (Hoping to finish this step by the end of April! Yea!) We are worried, though, because our son is 12 already! And the cost of college just keeps rising! Yikes!

40 Layla December 29, 2010 at 11:38 AM
