#wingiveaways 2010 Holiday Bash: Veggie Tales DVD Library – The Complete Collection – CLOSED

by Marcy on November 8, 2010 · 946 comments

UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed.

Today I was trying to remember when we were first introduced to Veggie Tales. It was probably around the time that my daughter was 3. What I DO remember for sure is that my child adored the DVD so much that she wanted to watch it over and over again…and a Veggie Tales fan was born. :-) In fact, for her third birthday, we received 4 or 5 new Veggie Tales DVDs -and she still watches them regularly 1.5 years later.

I can honestly say that my husband and I are big fans of Veggie Tales too. I love the lessons and values that these movies teach. The songs are catchy and often hilarious, and the writers always build in humor for their adult audience. Our Veggie Tales collection has grown from DVDs to books, CDs and plush toys in the past couple of years, and I was excited to see that Veggie Tales also offers personalized books & DVDs, Veggie Wrist Bands, Bedding, Christmas Tree Ornaments + More on their website here.

Now through 12/31/10, use coupon code VEGGIE221 at checkout and get 30% off of your order (this code can’t be combined with any other offer)! You can also download Veggie Tales: The Incredible Singing Christmas Tree MP3 Album for FREE here.

Catch Veggie Tales on Saturday morning TV in some areas. Get more info about that here.

I am beyond thrilled that the kind folks at Veggie Tales have kindly given me 1 Veggie Tales DVD Library – The Complete Collection, to give away to one of you! It includes 42 DVDs and is valued at over $400!! This set is perfect for your own personal collection, gift giving, to share with your church or mom’s group – you get the idea. ;-)

What am I giving away?

I will be honest, I have never watched the Veggie Tales, but I like the fact that my daughter and grandsons will be able to watch something fun, wholesome and kid friendly for a change… I have heard great things about the Veggie Tales from a co-worker and online so I know with a great reputation they have got to have a quality product for kids.

7 Linda B November 8, 2010 at 6:08 PM

I am not sure which was the first of the Veggie Tales that we have seen. It might have been the “Pirates who dont do anything.” But I do know that I have seen “God made you Special” about 200 times I can probably recite half the episodes. My two daughters love Veggie Tales and its such a treat for a new one.

43 linda November 8, 2010 at 6:26 PM

Veggie Tales are awesome for the whole family. Our two youngest are now 14 and 15 and we still watch and laugh. There is something for the young ones and there is always something slid in for the adults because how many kids movies can you really watch and enjoy. These are the best.

As a 20-something with 4 nieces and nephews, Veggie Tales get used a LOT in my house. The values they teach! The songs! The characters! Everything about them!!
I remember the first time I saw them – it was a high school Sunday School class Christmas party. It was great; and I was hooked!
I don’t have any for myself (unfortunately) but I give them to the kids all the time!!
Thanks for giving me the chance to win!

51 nancy makela November 8, 2010 at 6:36 PM

I am a new grandmother my grandaughter is 17 months I bought 1 veggie tales and had it in the dvd player and she will be in a full run when she hears the music she comes to the front of the tv stops, and starts to dance . I have to get them all, what a good message they give

52 Tracy Markland November 8, 2010 at 6:40 PM

As the song goes “There has never, ever, ever been a show like veggietales. “..I love the lessons that they teach our children. Sometimes you don’t think that they are really paying attention, when there comes a moment of temptation and they remember Larry boy being tempted by the Apple. Veggietales is a great way to teach kids about the Bible and what God wants for their lives, without it being like a preaching sermon. I also don’t think Veggietales has to only be for the kids. LOL!

53 Carrie November 8, 2010 at 6:40 PM

I love Veggie Tales for several reasons! They are so fun to watch, they share amazing messages, and when they are on, I never have to worry about what my daughter is seeing. I would love to win these videos and have the chance to bring home the full set for my little girl!

63 Jill November 8, 2010 at 6:53 PM

64 NinaB November 8, 2010 at 6:53 PM

My family and I love Veggie Tales!!!!! I love that they tell bible stories in a way that a young child can understand and makes it fun to watch as well. Sometimes the message of the story can be lost in translation or when people try to make the story too cutesy that kids miss out on the real meaning behind the stories. Veggie Tales has done the best job of making sure the point gets across and making entertaining for kids to watch.

320 Erin November 8, 2010 at 9:37 PM

I would love, love, love to be able to give this gift to my sister and brother-in-law for Christmas. I haven’t seen them in over 2 years and we’re all coming together for Christmas in Atlanta this year. Several years ago they started collecting these DVDs and saving them for when they had children. Sadly they found out they weren’t able to have kids and now they are on a waiting list desperately hoping that someone will pick them to be the adoptive parents to their child. This would be an over the top gift for them!!! It’s a great way to teach values, morals and biblical stories!!

Our little family LOVES Veggie Tales. I was first introduced to them when I was in High school and I even had a VHS tape of it then! Now that I have my own 2 year old son he loves them too! It’s been awesome to see how much the quality has improved in their animation, music and development since I first started watching them. I am very thankful for a well-made CHRISTIAN cartoon for children to learn life lessons and giggle with their families together.

It’s really hard to say what is my absolute favorite thing about VeggieTales. Please don’t ‘stone’ me if I say that it’s not necessarily their commitment to sharing biblical values and truths with our children. However, I feel that the creators of VT (Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki) have a talent of entertaining children *and* parents at the same time! The ‘puns’ and humor that are interspersed are second to none! Thanks guys!!! :)

We have always loved Veggie Tales since my husband was in college. We went to the Baptist Student Union one day and there were a bunch of college students watching one and laughing their heads off. So, we joined them to see what was so great an we immediately went to purchase them not only for our son, but for us to giggle at as well. I think they are very universal and easy to understand. Outstanding series.
