I’m sorry I forgot to come post last week about this, but since the 10 item sale is running through, better late than never. I scored some good deals in the toiletry aisle. Suave deodorants were $1.79. I had a coupon to get a free Old Spice spray with purchase of the deo. I also had a $1 coupon on the deo from a P&G mailer I received. I had another coupon for $5 off Oil of Olay body wash if you buy a Suave deo, and the OO body wash was only $5! So, for $.79 and $1.79, I got two deodorant, body spray, and body wash. Axe was also $2.50, and I had a bogo coupon for it. I know there were other deals to be made on those coupons, but I was in a hurry, and knew the sale was staying on another week. I’ll scope some more today. By the way, the Jet Puff marshmallows for the hot chocolate coupon were only $.99!

Marcy,

Thank you for your NBC 4 segment last night. I didn’t realize the turkeys were on sale for 49-cents per pound already. This morning I went to my Marion store where the sign still said $1.19/pound, so I asked when they were going on sale. The meat manager said that starting today they are on sale for 58-cents (larger than 18 lb) and 78-cents (smaller than 18 lb), but she didn’t have the signage up yet. I was surprised and told her that I knew they were much cheaper in Columbus. I told her that it might be worth it to drive down to a Columbus store (I’m going shopping on Saturday so it won’t be out of my way) to get the better deal. She said because I mentioned the deal that she would mark down whichever turkey I wanted. She also said to call the 800 number for customer service to complain. My store is in the same division as yours, I watch the same local tv as you, and I read the same newspaper, so there’s no good reason my turkey should cost more than yours. I was pleased with the way the meat manager handled things, so I will be sure to let CS know.

@Amy,
that’s great!
I live on the east side of Columbus (Reynoldsburg area) & I still find pricing differences.

Marcy,
I’m actually sorry I missed your TV spot; I wish they would bring back the Ellie Merritt show.

Just wanted to say….thank you for ALL you do! I went to Kroger last week and with the help of your awesome posting of deals/coupons I spent $36 and SAVED $118!!! WOW…..that is my personal best…… EVER! Thanks to God and you, you have helped save my family sooooo much money! Again, thank you!
~Would you be able/willing to share how you got your above deals in the toiletry aisle?;) Thanks!!!!!

5 Marcy November 13, 2010 at 12:39 PM

Ladies, thanks so much for the comments and for the additional deals! I always appreciate the extra eyes out there catching the things that I miss. :-)

Ann – so glad that you were able to get the cheaper price on turkey! That is awesome and sounds like they handled it really well. I’m still waiting to see if it is going to go even cheaper? $0.49/lb is pretty incredible.

Annie – which products did you have a question about in the toiletry aisle? I’ll do my best to help!

Now I’m off to finish up my own list so that I can take advantage of the Mega Sale on its last day. :-)
