Our Kroger is running the 10 for $10 if you purchase 10. Can anybody tell me if the participating products need to be purchased in qtys of 10 (so a total of 30 participating products) or is anything over 10 discounted?

2 Whitney October 4, 2010 at 8:45 PM

Jennifer – The 10 for $10 deals do not require that you buy 10. It’s just a misleading way of saying that the items are $1 each. You can buy 1 item or 100 items and the price will be $1 for each item. The 10 for $10 deals are NOT the same as the promotions that take off $5 for purchasing 10 participating items. For those deals you must purchase any combination of participating items but they must add up to quantities of 10.

Marcy – I wanted to bring your attention to one more deal. There’s a $1/2 Kroger e-coupon for Kraft Easy Mac which will net you two for free.

3 Amy October 5, 2010 at 5:18 AM

Does anyone know the exact dates of the Kick Off to Savings $5 off when you buy 10 items sale? I assume it’s a 2 week event and and know this is week 1. I only have 8 items that I want to buy this week that are included in the promotion. My hope is that next week’s inserts will have enough q’s for me to do an even 10 (or 20 or 30, etc) items.

4 cheryl October 5, 2010 at 8:18 AM

Does anyone know if the e-coupons are still coming off in addition to the paper coupons? I was reading about a policy change on a forum and it mentioned that both cannot be used.

5 s412 October 5, 2010 at 7:04 PM

Does anyone know if you can buy multiples of the 10 items in one transaction? For example, can you buy 20 items and get $5+$5=$10 off?

6 Whitney October 5, 2010 at 8:10 PM

Cheryl – It’s my understanding that you still CAN use both an e-coupon and a paper coupon. However, previously Kroger did not have a written policy against the practice and now they do. The system will still take off both coupons but they are saying that using them both is against policy.

7 Marcy October 5, 2010 at 9:28 PM

Whitney is correct – eCoupons and paper coupons DO work together, but manufacturer’s frown upon using them this way. Because of that, I never promote them that way, but you can make up your own mind how you want to use them.

s412 – For the “Buy 10, get $5 off promo – I didn’t see any limit in my ad – so YES, you should be able to buy multiples of 10 and get $5 off (so 3 sets of 10 items would get you $15 off).

Whitney – Thanks for the Kraft eCoupon heads up!

Amy – I assume it is a 2 week event as well, but haven’t been to the store yet to confirm. Has anyone else?

8 Marcy October 5, 2010 at 9:33 PM

Whitney – should have asked where the Easy Mach q is? I didn’t see it on Kroger.com Thx!

9 Jennifer October 6, 2010 at 9:21 AM

@s412 – I was at Kroger yesterday and did buy 20 participating products and received the $10 off. So you sure can!

10 Whitney October 6, 2010 at 3:04 PM

Marcy – Perhaps they ran out? It was the only item under the Pasta category when I loaded it Monday and that category is no longer showing for me. Personally, I can’t stand the Kroger coupon site. Tons of errors and it never sorts properly. Maybe that’s why I’ve saved over $80 each through cellfire and shortcuts and only $6 through Kroger!

11 Amy October 10, 2010 at 12:09 PM

I looked through my new ad this morning. I’m glad I did. I noticed that some of the items in the $5 off 10 deal are more expensive next week. Today I ended up buying 30 items even though I originally only knew of 8 that I wanted. I picked up 22 3L bottles of water for DH’s homebrew to save him 20-cents each or $4.40 total.
