Groupon Daily Deals: Photo Tours, Ben & Jerry’s & More

by Jennifer on September 17, 2010 · 0 comments

As you may or may not know, September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. Recently, a family in the Washington, DC area lost their young son to cancer (you can read their story here). When I was asked if I would be willing to help raise money to support their efforts to fight against pediatric cancer, I felt it was the least I can do. As the mother of two young children I can’t imagine what this family and others like them go through when a young one is diagnosed with cancer.

This week (through Friday) whenever you use the links provided in the Groupon posts on Stretching a Buck to buy your Groupons (or to sign up), 8% of your purchase will go to the Declan Carmical Fund. This money will help Declan’s family support their efforts to fight pediatric cancer.

It’s the weekend and with that frequently comes eating out.  Good news!  There are many cities that are having restaurant deals today.  Typically 50% off, which makes eating out much more affordable.  Check out the following cities for restaurant deals – St. Louis, Denver, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, Richmond, Fort Wayne, Tucson, Queens, Long Island, Miami, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Albuquerque.

Wine Insiders has another of their great deals today in Buffalo. $75 worth of wine for just $25.

If you are visiting Washington D.C. this year there is a great opportunity available today.  For just $39 you can get a half day photography tour of  D.C.  from PhotoTour Excursions.  Your tour guide will help you take amazing pictures of this beautiful city.  You will learn tips to help you in your photography for years to come.  This sounds like a great way to see the city and learn some new skills.

If you are in the Dallas area today is your lucky day.  Well, if you like ice cream that is.  You can get $12 worth of Ben & Jerry’s Frozen Treats for just $6 at 3 different locations.  I hope this deal comes around near me!

If you are in the Columbus area you can get a 60-day membership and a 30-minute personal training session at Columbus Sports Connection for just $39.

Please note that you can purchase deals in any city. Just be sure to read the fine print to see if the in-store Groupons are limited to a specific store. Online deals tend to be available all over the country – for example, you can buy The Nutty Guys Groupon in any city and use it for yourself because it is for their website. Leave a comment if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to help!
