Search & Win

Ok…ok…I am finally jumping on the Swagbucks wagon. For real this time! My blogging friends have been yelling at telling me for months how great Swagbucks is, and how much I am missing, but I didn’t think I had the extra brain cells to figure it out. Thankfully, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to use this program – or so I am learning. :-)

In a nutshell, when you sign up for Swagbucks you can earn points for your online searches. I know that I search for multiple things every day using a search engine, so I figure, why not earn points (bucks!) while doing it? Those bucks can then be redeemed for gift cards/codes and a variety of other items. For example, 450 swag bucks will earn you a $5 e-Gift Card to Amazon.com. I’m still new to this, but so far I already have 80 swag bucks and I just signed up on Tuesday – so I’m hoping this will be fairly easy to accomplish. (Note to existing Swagbucks users – 1 pt now = 10 pts).

And I am really excited because it just so happens that today is the 2nd Birthday of Swagbucks.com and I have a special code to share with you that will start you off with 60 swag bucks if you are signing up for a new account. All that you have to do is sign up for your Swagbucks account here, and enter the code STRETCHABUCK (case sensitive) to receive your 60 swag bucks. This code is valid from 6AM (PST) today (2/25/06) through 6AM (PST) tomorrow (2/26/10).

Are you already a member of Swagbucks? If so, you’ll be glad to know that Swagbucks will be hosting several Swag Code giveaways on their blog and via Twitter and Facebook today. So be sure to check that out and earn extra bucks!

Finally, in conjunction with their 2nd birthday celebration, Swagbucks will be launching Swagbucks 3.0. We will now be able to earn bucks by having the Swagbucks toolbar visible on our browser (must be signed in). In addition, we can earn bucks by viewing “no obligation” special offers. There will also be a new look to the Swagbucks.com homepage and Swag/Rewards store, and a new Swagstakes Portal will be launched.

Because I am still learning about Swagbucks myself, I plan to post more information about this program in the upcoming weeks.

For those  of you who are seasoned Swagbucks users, what are some of your tips/tricks for using Swagbucks? What are your favorite things to purchase with your bucks?

Hi, So I signed up for SwagBucks just now and got my free 60. Then, I decided to view their special offers to earn more as shown under the Ways to Earn tab. I checked out the No Obligation Offers and was given a code at the end. I copied/pasted the code to my account (using the instuctions provided at the end of the session) and clicked Gimme…it told me to “enter a valid promotion code.” Um, does that mean I did something wrong (instructions seemed pretty clear) or was this just not a winning code? I don’t get it…

Sometimes I use it to ‘search’ for things I already know. The more searches you do, the greater your odds of winning! And check back weekly for a new code at the end of the no-obligation special offers. I have exchanged my swagbucks for $35 worth of Amazon gift cards in the last 6 months!

You will be very happy you signed up. I bought almost all our Christmas presents last year with the Amazon gift cards I got from Swagbucks.

If you install their search bar they will give codes from time to time. I have won swagbucks searching for things as silly as mickey mouse.

Brianna – I am so new to Swagbucks that I haven’t even tried the Special Offers yet… I did find this FAQ page, with a spot to submit a question if yours isn’t there:

Def. hang on to your code..hopefully someone will be able to help you get your credit.
