On the 10 item mega event, can you do 30 items in one transaction and get the $5 off three times? That is how these have worked in the past in Houston. thanks. This matchup really helped me.

Thank you so much for putting together this list. I know this list takes time and may not be prefect but I think it is great!! I live in Arizona and my prices maybe a little different but it still gives me a good idea what is on sale and what is a good price. I think Anonymous is wrong and if she does not like your prices she can find them her self!! thanks again!!

Marcy, thanks, ALWAYS, for a great match-up. You’ve saved me TONS of money. Your time IS valuable and I know you provide this for free to us. I disagree with “Anonymous” that your matchups don’t match up with “over half”. I’m sorry that “Anonymous” lost “precious time”, but it was YOUR precious time that got this blog started in the first place. KUDOS to you, Marcy. Marcy – To clarify, I used both the terms “Central Ohio ad” and “Great Lakes ad” because they are one in the same. Columbus is part of the Great Lakes Region in terms of Kroger advertising and pricing. The prices in an ad should be identical to others in the same region, and Kroger refers to our region as “Great Lakes” (though I admit I was initially thrown by this since I don’t consider us anywhere near Lake Erie.)If you visit the kroger.com website and enter any central Ohio zip code, then look at the weekly ad, you will see that the web address begins “greatlakes.” This region includes parts of Michigan, Ohio (excluding Cincy) and West Virginia. For Columbus residents looking for other Kroger matchups, googling for the Great Lakes region will provide you with local ad prices. You need to change the Cheez-It match-up. That IP coupon is for a larger size — not the size on sale in my ad. I would love to get them free, but 24 cents each with the $1.50/2 from the newspaper is good too.

Anon. - I do use a Central OH Kroger sales ad when compiling my deals each week - not a Great Lakes ad.

I use a coupon database to look up coupons from the newspaper inserts when writing my deals posts - I have always done this. Unfortunately, the coupon databases list coupons from all inserts - they are not broken out by region. Therefore, to know if a coupon was in our Central OH coupon inserts, I have to look them up manually in my inserts, just as you do.

I do my best to provide information that is useful and relevant each week. I know that my match ups (and sometimes even my math!) is not always accurate, but I do try very hard to provide useful info to my readers - at no cost to you.

Unfortunately, with all that I try to do on this site, I don't always have the time to go through my own inserts to confirm what coupons we received in Central OH. Whenever I do know for a fact that we did not receive a coupon, I have been noting that.

I'll do my best moving forward to continue doing that, but please know that my time is also limited, and that weekends are the most time intensive part of my work week. When trying to balance that with family, sometimes my blog has to suffer.

Hi Marcy -

Your Kroger posts have been a tremendous time saver for me over the past year but I've had some reservations about using your matchups recently. You say you use a Central Ohio Kroger ad but your matchups are clearly not from the Columbus Dispatch. I have just spent half an hour looking up coupons you list, and more than half have not been in the Dispatch inserts. It is both frustrating and a loss of precious time to sort through inserts 2-3 times (and I have multiple copies to confirm I am not just missing a page) only to discover that those in Columbus did not receive the coupon you list.

In the past I almost never encountered this issue with your blog. I appreciate that you are providing matchups to a wide audience - but you are also using a Great Lakes Region ad. Would it be possible to more often mark those coupons we did not receive here in Columbus? I appreciate all your hard work and I'd like it to be even more valuable and applicable to your loyal Columbus followers!
