Super Savings Saturday

The last couple of weeks have been a bit crazy when it comes to menu planning and grocery shopping. We have had a lot going on and I have been relying heavily on my grocery stockpile which has been so nice…especially since I haven’t had a lot of time to run to the grocery store.

This week I thought I’d share some of my Black Friday finds…I rarely go shopping on Black Friday, but I went with my mom and step sister today and we got a lot accomplished! I am not a die hard Black Friday shopper in the sense that I have to find the best deals on everything. In some cases I was able to take advantage of “Black Friday” deals, in others I wasn’t. I didn’t stress out about it too much…the whole point was for me to get what I needed for a reasonable price while sticking to my budget…which I did for the most part.

Among my best deals:

* 2 pack of Barbie “princess” dolls at Toys R Us – $9.99
* Tonka Race Car/Track at Toys R Us – $14.99
* 2 pack of Martha Stewart pillows at Macy’s – $16.99
* Kids clothes galore at Old Navy, all less than $7.50 apiece

I got several other deals as well, and am probably 90% done with my Christmas shopping…which has NEVER happened this early before. It was pretty crazy at the stores today, but the lines moved fairly quickly and for once we didn’t encounter any mean shoppers. Overall it was a productive day. I even shopped ahead for several birthday gifts. Since I rarely “marathon” shop (especially without my 2 year old) I thought I should take advantage of it.
