Thrifty Thursday: Yard Sale Finds

Last weekend a local school was having a community yard sale to raise money for one of their sports teams. My friend “K” and I decided to check it out to see if we could find some good deals.

Anyway…we were almost out the door (with no deals in hand) when I spotted a table full of baby boy clothes. And since I have a brand new nephew (2 weeks old tomorrow!) I decided to check them out. I found a table full of name brand clothes (Carter’s, Childrens Place etc…) for super cheap. Plus there were some items that weren’t ticketed that we were allowed to offer a price on. Which means that I got 2 Carter’s onesies for $0.25/ea!. Here is a picture of what I purchased for a total of $13. The outfit from the Children’s Place (overalls and plaid shirt) still had tags on them!

While I will still purchase a “new” gift for my nephew, I am excited that I can give even more than I planned since I found all of these clothes for such a great price.

I used to be a bit of a “yard sale snob” and never would have taken the time to check them out. But I have learned over the last year that there are some great deals to be found at yard sales if you are willing to take the time to look. Especially on baby clothes…which are worn for such a short amount of time (if at all!). And in this case, I found great deals and helped out a local high school sports team. You can’t beat that!
