Combining Giant Eagle Fuel Perks Bonus & the Kellogg's Rebate Deal

by Marcy on August 4, 2008 · 0 comments

I have been unsure whether or not I was going to purchase cereal as part of the Giant Eagle bonus fuel perks deal (it ends on Wednesday and you can read about it here), but after getting the Kellogg’s coupon insert this weekend, I don’t think that I can pass it up. Please note that you’ll only have 2 days to work this deal – Tuesday and Wednesday (8/5, 8/6). Be sure to read the fine print on your Kellogg’s rebate – all 10 items must be purchased in one transaction and you must include the original receipt & UPC codes. You are also only allowed one rebate per household.

Here is my plan:

* 4 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats – $2.50/ea; use $1/1 printable here & $1/2 in Kellogg’s insert; Final Price = $1.75/ea

* 2 boxes of Special K – $2.50/ea; use $1/2 in Kellogg’s insert; Final Price = $2/ea

* 2 boxes of Raisin Bran – $2.50/ea; use $1/2 in Kellogg’s insert; Final Price = $2/ea

* 2 boxes of Rice Krispies – $2.50/ea; use $1/1 printable here; Final Price = $1.50/ea

Total OP after $10 Kellogg’s rebate (also in 8/3 Kellogg’s insert): $8.00 (or $0.80/ea!)

Total Bonus Fuel Perks earned: $0.40/gal or an extra $12 in savings on 30 gallons, PLUS the $18 I will have spent out of pocket will go toward my regular fuel perks rewards.

The bottom line is that after the rebate and bonus fuel perks, I will have actually earned $4.

There are multiple ways that you can work this deal depending on your coupons and cereal preferences. If you have a scenario you would like to share, please leave a comment. :-)
