Menu Plan Monday – July 14

by Marcy on July 14, 2008 · 0 comments

I’m a little late getting this posted, but wanted to get it up. There are a couple of repeats from last week since we were bad and ate out 3 times. I think that is an all time high for us…we typically try to go out only once per week. Ugh. At least we used our “fun money” (i.e. cash) to pay for it.

In terms of some of the new recipes that I have tried lately, we really liked the Parmesan Pork Chops and the Stuffed Zucchini. I would recommend both if you are in the mood for something different.

Also, if I haven’t mentioned it before, throwing a couple of handfuls of mini chocolate chips into the recipe for Bisquick Strawberry Shortcakes is a yummy way to change things up a bit.

The next couple of weeks are going to be light shopping weeks, which means plain and simple meals, and probably no new recipes. My daughter and I will be out of town for a few days, so my husband will be eating from the pantry/freezer. I’ll still attempt to post a menu plan next Monday even though I won’t actually be planning any meals until next Wednesday (7/16) at the earliest. It’ll be a nice little break, and hopefully I’ll come back refreshed and ready to cook (and to try some new recipes again).

Monday – Grilled Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches & Chips (my husband is “cooking” when I am at the dentist)

Tuesday – Garlic Chicken w/Linguine, Carrots & Broccoli

Wednesday – Burgers on the grill, Macaroni & Cheese (in the box…no fancy stuff this week!), and Veggies

Thursday – BBQ Chicken Breasts, Potatoes & Veggies (all on the grill)

Friday – Homemade Pizza (on the grill?) & Salad

Saturday & Sunday – My daughter and I will be out of town visiting family, so my husband is on his own! (I’m not totally mean…I have already bought a few easy things for him to make while we are gone).

Be sure to check out I’m an Organizing Junkie for lots of great menu plan inspiration! Laura also has some great tips posted about where to start if you are new to cooking/menu planning.

Hope that you all have a wonderful week! :-)
