Document Storage – What do you do?

by Marcy on July 11, 2008 · 0 comments

So this is a post where I am going to shamelessly beg for your opinions and help…

One of my main projects around the house this weekend is to clean our loft/office space. I am buried in piles of papers and clutter, and it is really starting to bug me. Actually it has been bugging me for quite some time…

I thought I would ask for some advice since I am either going to have to file or shred mountains of paper this weekend depending on what I decide to keep or toss. My first question for you is, how do you handle document storage in your house? I tend to hang on to everything for at least a year, and I’m not really sure that I need to be when it comes to utility, credit card, and other bill statements. I am embarrassed to admit that I just threw statements from 2005 in my huge “shred” pile, so obviously I have some work to do…

Also, do you have any favorite storage containers/bins/cabinets that you prefer? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Look for before and after pictures and tales of what turns up in my huge piles in a post next week. I bet you can hardly contain your excitement. :-)

Have a wonderful weekend!
