Sunday Savings - CVS & Walgreens

Yes, I am full of contradictions...Yesterday I posted about not knowing how I was going to hit my grocery budget for the month, and then today I went to CVS & Walgreens and spent $ that I hadn't planned for. But I'm going to post my deals anyway because 1) it shows you that I am not perfect 2) I was having CVS withdrawal 3) I got some great deals! and 4) did I mention that I'm not perfect?

Here is what I did at Walgreens:

I spent $8.01 OP on the above items. The deodorant was my best deal. There is a coupon in the Walgreens ad for $1.99 Degree and Dove deodorant (happens to be what we use anyway). I had a $1/1 coupon for each that I had clipped from past Sunday papers, which made these $0.99/ea!! On top of that, both had little travel sized deodorants attached which is awesome for when we travel or go to the gym!

DH and I are going on a (RARE) date tonight, and we are taking the candy to the movies with us (shhh...don't tell!). These were $1/ea. The Listerine was on sale for $3.99, I had a $0.50/1 coupon, plus there is a travel size product attached to this as well!

Here is what I did at CVS:

I purchased the above items for $8.87 OP, and earned $19 in new ECBs to spend later! (My total was $45 and some change before coupons).

I used the following coupons:

1 - $2/1 Pull-Ups from paper insert

2 - $1/1 Huggies from paper insert

2 - $1/1 Purell from paper insert

1 - $1/1 Energizer from paper insert

1 - $4/20 CVS coupon for registering my info online on the CVS site
$23.99 in ECBs that I earned from past purchases

If you search online, you can find printable Huggies & Pull-Ups coupons for sure. Try here and here. You might be able to find Purell and Energizer coupons online as well.

The Jolly Rancher lollipops were $0.57 a bag and the Snickers bunny was $0.17. All Valentine's candy was 75% off. The lollipops will make great potty training treats, and I am also going to give some to my nieces and nephews at DD's upcoming birthday parties. The Gobstoppers were $1.50 and I bought those to take to the movie theater tonight (no, we aren't going to eat 3 boxes of candy...I just wanted to provide DH with options :)).

I earned $15 in ECBs doing the buy $30 get $15 deal on the Huggies, Pull-Ups and Batteries. I earned $4 in ECBs from buying the Purell. The Purell was $3.99/ea at my store, not $3.79 as I have seen posted elsewhere.

Total spent today: $16.88. Not too shabby for items that I needed and will use!

I think you did great! If you celebrate Easter, don't forget that pink used for Valentine's candies looks very nice in an Easter Basket, LOL!

I forgot about the Valentine's day clearance candy. I was planning on doing the same thing as mom2fur and using some of it for easter!

Great idea with the candy! I hadn't even thought of that! I need to start thinking about Easter soon (have been consumed with birthday).
